Manual Handling — Principles and Practice
An ideal approach to safer and more effective manual handling — meeting HSE recommendations and promoting good, safe practice in any workplace. This regulated, instructor-led qualification combines essential theory with hands-on practical technique, so your team can lift, carry, push and pull without putting themselves or their colleagues at risk.
Why this course matters
We are all exposed at times to some form of manual handling — lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing — often compounded by simultaneous movements such as climbing or pivoting. Personal injuries from incorrect manual handling account for over one million working days lost each year, alongside the pain and suffering experienced by those affected. Correct technique makes a huge difference.
The Health and Safety Executive requires employers to provide health & safety information and training — supplemented, where necessary, with more specific training on manual handling injury risks and prevention. This qualification helps you meet that duty.
